If your cycling tendencies lean a bit toward the dirty side of the equation, there are a variety of different ways mountain bikers can get their kicks in the Northwest. Many people consider the Northwest the birthplace of mountain biking, and that heritage is strongly evident in the trail systems that have developed here.

The trails in British Columbia have defined a new style of riding, that both defies gravity and expectations of what mountain biking can be. Nowhere in the world is this more evident than on the North Shore of Vancouver, BC and in Whistler, where professional trail designers have etched the terrain, and built features to help you navigate trails that traditionally would not have been accomplishable on two wheels.

Oregon, Washington, and California have very legitimate freeriding as well in addition to many epic singletrack rides that take you deep in to the backcountry.
