Pacific Northwest Vacations | Vancouver Island Travel Guide

Vancouver Island

The Vancouver Island Range keeps this treasure bipolar in nature: a temperate rainforest on the west inundated by many fjords, bays and inlets while the east side is the mildest in Canada-- its Mediterranean climate nurturing the nation's best vineyards. Renowned for their fisheries of trout, Steelhead and salmon, this enchanted Island has been the home to many First Nations tribes for thousands of years. With an abundance of Provincial Parks and the new Wild Pacific Trail, travelers have their pick of serene hiking trails and sandy coves.

If you feel like venturing out one step further, the Gulf Islands sit in the Strait Georgia like the Queen's Jewels. Rich with ecologically diverse plant and sea life, the atmosphere here is laid back with most residents’ content to rely on their thumb to get around. As the days pass into night, it almost feels like this is the land that time forgot, until you taste some of the delicious food prepared by your local restaurateur; this is how life was meant to be lived.
